Government: No Electronic Flaws in Toyotas

A government investigation of the Toyota safety problems had found no electronic flaws to accountfor reports of sudden acceleration. Transportation officials and engineers with NASA say two mechanical safety defects from beforethat where identified by the government which where the sticking accelerator pedals and gas pedals that can become trapped in floor mats are the only known causes for the reports of runaway Toyotas. Both issues were the subject of large recalls by Toyota. So far Toyota has recalled more than 12 million vehicles around the world since fall 2009 for a series of safety issues.
